| One of my favorite looks from the show! So fresh and clean. |
1.Be aware of the illusion of fullness that white creates. It can work to enhance specific areas of your body, either negatively or positively. Always keep the placement of the garment in mind, and of the color that is featured on the garment, or the color of the garment itself.
2.Make sure your whites are in fact WHITE; nothing is worse than stained or tinted clothing. When washing your whites make sure that you only wash them with other whites. That being said, it does make it harder to wear in the fall and winter seasons (especially in wet slush!).
3.If you intend on wearing white pants of any sort do the light test! Something I make sure to do before any fashion purchase. I can't count the number of times where girls have fallen victim to the sheer pant, and trust me you don't want it to be you. If you are purchasing an item that you do not intend to be sheer, to any extent than hold it up to a bright light and check if you can see your hand through the other side of the garment. If you can, then DITCH IT. Also make sure that if they are tighter fighting pants that it is made from a thicker material prevent unwanted lines or creases to be seen.
Note: I like to use Forever New all natural laundry detergent. It gets the stains away without damaging the clothing. If washing denim, remember to turn it inside out and hang to dry. Harsh chemical filled soaps will damage the natural grain.
Here is one of my outfits from this past weekend, where I integrate my pure white BDG ankle zipper skinny jeans. The wonderful felt hat I am wearing is from Winners, the shirt is from Joe Fresh, the vest and jacket is from Zara, and lastly the shoes are from George.
I hope this post inspires you all to try something new today! If you are still unsure of the white trend, then try starting with something small, like a scarf and working your way up from there! Baby steps...
Until next time,
Kelly
